Total Film has a summer 2012 featurette on The Hobbit entitled “Meet the New Faces.” Among those faces is Aidan Turner’s, playing Kili in the upcoming two-part epic. There’s a very brief snippet where he talks about his character, revealing some great insight on what to expect — including a possible love interest? Check it out below:

Fans of BBC Three’s supernatural series “Being Human” will recognise 28-year-old Turner as dishy bloodsucker Mitchell. Any fears that he’s uglying up for his role in The Hobbit will be eased by news that he’s been tagged the “hot dwarf” in Jacko’s epic.

“I’m glad that you said that,” laughs the Irish actor. “Well, it’s not the worst thing I’ve been called.” Kili’s part has been expanded from the novel: as well as chasing treasue, he’s also pursuing female elf Tauriel [played by Evangeline Lilly].

But is he setting his sights too high? “I guess he knows nothing can ever happen,” he explains. “She’s about 20ft tall and he’s only two.”
